The greatest pleasures in my life are raising my children and connecting with my wife and best friend, Angela. We have grown children scattered around the country and two still at home.

My Journey

I’m originally from Virginia, born in Portsmouth near Virginia Beach. During high school, you’d find me lying on the living room floor reading my favorite books – almost always about investments or real estate.

Here’s something that might surprise you:I started investing in high school. I convinced my father to take me to a stockbroker and began investing my own money. My first stock was a utility, my second was gold. During college, I was excited (and nervous!) to buy my first rental property.

After Virginia Tech and George Washington University, I had a brief stint managing a moving company. The three brothers who owned Beltway Movers taught me invaluable lessons about serving clients well and running a business.

Then I entered financial services and never looked back.

Life in Paradise

In 1996, I moved to paradise – Colorado Springs! Someone once said it’s like living in a postcard, and they were right. On beautiful nights, we’d hang a sheet as a movie screen in front of the trampoline, project movies on it, and lay there eating popcorn together as a family.

In 2021, we moved to New Braunfels in south central Texas to be near family. During Texas summers, we return to Colorado, sitting on our patio looking at Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods, enjoying morning coffee and evening wine with friends.

What Drives Me

I really enjoy my work. It’s exciting to meet with clients and new people. It brings me joy to help people work through financial issues and reach their dreams.

Financial statements to me are a real-life extension of those investment books I loved as a kid. A great day in the office is getting to know someone, reviewing their financial progress, and turning it into something that secures their financial future and removes the worry.
